Officers from Cannock local policing team (LPT) and our Road Crime Team (RCT) have seized a number of uninsured vehicles as part of a crackdown in the Cannock area.
We increased patrols in Hednesford and Norton Canes over the weekend of 6 to 8 June and a total of four vehicles were seized.
A motorcycle was seized and the rider was reported for no insurance while on Tesco car park in Hednesford on Sunday (8 June).
On nearby Scarborough Way in Hednesford, a Vauxhall Astra was seized a short time later, with the driver reported for no licence or insurance.
This was the second seizure in this area, as on Friday (6 June), a BMW was seized on Scarborough Way with the driver also reported for no licence or insurance.
While on Sunday (8 June) a Audi was seized on Burntwood Road, Norton Canes, after the driver failed to stop for officers. He was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving, failure to stop, driving without a licence and insurance. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Officers will continue to respond to community concerns relating to irresponsible drivers and do what we can to ensure everyone is safe on Staffordshire's roads.
