We have arrested nine people this morning (Wednesday 11 June) in several warrants across Cannock.
Officers from our major and organised crime team joined up with local policing colleagues to search a total of 12 addresses in the area - finding suspected drugs, cash and weapons.
Nine people are currently in custody after being arrested:
Chief Inspector Al Lyford, from the Cannock local policing team, said: “Today, we’ve sent out an army of officers to a number of addresses in the local area, resulting in nine arrests as part of ongoing criminal investigations.
“I want to send a clear message to those involved in criminal activity that we are here and we are working tirelessly to stop you.
“We’re continuing to tackle the issues that local people care about the most in Cannock.”
More than 1,000 people have been arrested in Staffordshire on suspicion of weapon and drug offences since we launched our crackdown on organised crime in May 2023.
