Five teenagers have been arrested after a stolen car was stopped on the A500 in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
We received a report at 10pm on Wednesday (12 June) that a Nissan Micra had been stolen from an address on Cheadle Road in Blythe Bridge, Stoke-on-Trent.
It was spotted on the A500 southbound at 11.35pm and after a short pursuit, four boys and one man were arrested.
The car was then searched and officers found a large amount of cannabis and scales.
The boys, aged 15, 16, 17 and 17, and all from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.
The 18-year-old man, also from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of the same offences.
They have all been released on conditional bail whilst our enquiries continue.
