Two arrests have been made after we responded to a car theft in Lichfield this morning (Tuesday 21 January).
Officers were called to a street near Deakin Way at 3.20am when someone spotted three people taking an Audi S3 from a home.
One of them drove off in the Audi and the other two drove off in a Ford Fiesta.
Local officers flooded the area and started looking for the suspects. We spotted the Fiesta driving without it’s lights on and started following it.
The Fiesta was stung at Wall Island. The two people inside tried to run off but were quickly caught.
A 22-year-old man, from Birmingham, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for theft, dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
A 17-year-old boy, from Birmingham, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for burglary and vehicle theft.
Both remain in custody for questioning.
