A crack cocaine dealer in Tamworth who tried to hide drugs and a lock knife when we searched him has been jailed.
Patrick Wilson, 20, of Tamworth, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday (27 January) and was sentenced to two-years-and-11-months imprisonment after he was convicted of two counts of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, two counts of possessing criminal property and one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was first arrested when he tried to escape officers who were patrolling next to Pennine Way, Stoneydelph, on 31 August 2023. He chucked his bag into a patch of long grass when he tried to run away which had crack cocaine inside.
He was taken into custody, questioned and released under investigation.
He was stopped again by officers in March 2024 while sat in a black Mercedes on Hockley Road, Wilnecote. He tried to hide a lock knife and deals of crack cocaine under his seat when officers came over.
Two phones, including a drug line, were seized from him, alongside cash.
Wilson was then charged with offences from both incidents. He pleaded guilty to the offences from March 2024 and was found guilty of the offences from August 2023.
