Two men have been jailed after we busted a cannabis grow in Stoke-on-Trent with nearly £300,000-worth of plants inside.
Cao Khanh, 25, and Alfred Mustafa, 29, both of no fixed address, were arrested when local officers searched an address in Swan Square, Burslem, on 12 September last year.
More than 600 cannabis plants were found inside. If sold in deals, the total value of the drugs was estimated to be between £87,300 and £291,000.
Khanh was sentenced to 14-months imprisonment after he admitted being concerned in the production of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis and abstracting electricity.
Mustafa was jailed for one year after he admitted being concerned in the production of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.
We’re working proactively to disrupt and target the organised crime groups responsible for cannabis cultivation across Staffordshire.
Those involved are often exploited by career criminals and forced to cultivate the plants on behalf of criminal gangs.
If you notice any signs of cannabis cultivation in your area, call us on 101 or use Live Chat on our website.
