We’re appealing for information after a suspected firearm was used during a disturbance in Stoke-on-Trent.
We were called to Balfour Street, Hanley, just before 8.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 18 February) following reports of a man in the street with a long-barrelled weapon. He was with a group of other people at the time.
Firearms officers went to the scene and carried out a search of the area. Two vehicles and a property had been damaged.
A man was found with injuries inside an address that we understand were caused by broken glass. Fortunately, his injuries were not serious.
A cordon has been put in place while detectives continue to carry out door to door enquiries, review CCTV and complete forensic work as part of our ongoing investigation.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact us by calling 101, or via Live Chat on our website, quoting incident number 574 of 18 February.
To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
