We are appealing for information after a man sadly died following a collision in the Stafford area.
We were called at 3.40pm on Monday (3 February) to the A51 in Hixon following reports of a collision.
Officers attended and a white Nissan Qashqai was found involved in a collision with a white Peugeot van.
Colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene to help remove the car driver from their vehicle.
The driver of the Nissan, a man in his 90s, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
He sadly died in hospital later that evening.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.
Staffordshire Highways were also notified due to fuel on the road.
