Four people have been arrested after patrolling officers responded to a moped theft in Stafford.
It happened at about 5.45pm yesterday (Monday 21 April). A Lexmoto moped had been left parked on Earl Street but had been taken when the owner came back to it.
Officers who were near Victoria Park were told about the theft and started investigating. A group of people were then stopped. We also found the moped abandoned nearby.
A 22-year-old man from Birmingham and a 17-year-old boy from Walsall have both been arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.
A 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl, both from Stafford, were also arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and has been bailed with conditions while our enquiries continue.
We’re determined to act robustly against those responsible for vehicle theft across Staffordshire.
