A woman has been charged with a number of theft offences after an estimated £1,000-worth of goods were taken from shops in Burton-on-Trent.
Joanne Austin, 33, from Burton-on-Trent, has been charged with five counts of theft from a shop and one count of assault by beating.
It follows a series of thefts from shops in the area between August and September this year.
Austin appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Thursday (12 September) and was placed on conditional bail ahead of a further hearing due at the same court on 10 October.
