Our robust efforts to investigate the recent firearm discharge in Stoke-on-Trent are continuing with widespread searches across the city today (Friday 6 September).
Detectives have been carrying out enquiries into what happened near Winchester Avenue in Bentilee on Tuesday (3 September) when gunshots were heard.
No-one was injured.
Forensics, armed police, drone surveillance and specialist search teams have been carrying out warrants in the area over the last few days as our investigation progresses.
Armed officers have been assisting search efforts at addresses near Werrington Road and near Beverley Drive this morning, which are expected to continue.
The 28-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday, remains in custody.
