A man has been charged after we found crack cocaine during a vehicle stop in Uttoxeter.
Lakan Illsley, 27, from Draycott-in-the-Clay, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (crack cocaine).
It comes after a vehicle search on Trinity Road, Uttoxeter, on Tuesday (10 September), where officers found crack cocaine, cash and mobile phones.
When they searched an address in the town, cannabis and scales were recovered.
Illsley appeared at the North Staffordshire Magistrates Court yesterday (11 September) and was remanded in custody to a hearing at Stafford Crown Court on Friday 11 October.
A 25-year-old woman, from the Uttoxeter area, who was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, has been released under investigation.
The activity follows our ongoing commitment to proactively target serious and organised crime across Staffordshire.
We launched Operation Target last year and have been working with local police forces to disrupt and pursue criminals who plan, organise and commit serious criminal offences across the county, including drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
