A man who ran from a car that was followed by officers in Stoke-on-Trent has been arrested after he was caught by police dog Iko.
At 12.50pm on Wednesday (4 September), officers spotted a VW Passat travelling on City Road, Fenton, and followed it.
The driver ditched the car on St Matthews Court after failing to stop and tried to run away.
PD Iko was then sent in to track the man down, who was quickly found in the back garden of an address.
A 40-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, failing to stop, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and arrest for breaking or likely to break bail conditions.
He has since been detained to appear before the courts.
