Four more people have been charged and convicted for their part in the violent disorder in Staffordshire.
Hayden Cooper-Horne, 18, of Tamworth, was charged and later pleaded guilty in court to violent disorder and possessing a controlled drug of class B – cannabis/cannabis resin. He was involved in the Tamworth disorder and threw rocks at police officers over a prolonged period.
Lewis Edwards, 21, of Bentilee, Stoke-on-Trent, Jordan Winyard, 28, of no fixed address, and a 16-year-old boy, of Stoke-on-Trent, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were all charged and later pleaded guilty to violent disorder.
Edwards threw a rock and a paving stone at police in the Hanley disorder. He was the 100th person we arrested in connection with the investigation.
Winyard was wearing a pig mask at Tamworth when he launched missiles at police officers, police dogs and at the Holiday Inn hotel. He was identified after we tracked him on CCTV.
The 16-year-old boy was wearing a balaclava when he launched missiles at police in Hanley.
We’ve now arrested 105 people and charged 42 with offences as part of our ongoing investigation into the violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent and Tamworth.
Cooper-Horne and Winyard are due to be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday (25 September).
Edwards is due to be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 1 November.
The 16-year-old boy is due to be sentenced at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 16 October.
