Five more people have been charged as part of our investigation into the violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent.
A 17-year-old boy, from Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place and assault of a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm.
Dominic Cartwright, 34, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been charged with violent disorder and obstructing or resisting a constable in execution of duty.
Matthew Hodgekinson, 33, of Halmerend, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Daniel Bagguley, 31, of Newcastle-under-Lyme and Aaron Dring, 26, of Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, have all been charged with violent disorder.
We have now arrested 73 people and charged a total of 30 as part of our investigation into the disorder in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August and Tamworth on 4 August.
Cartwright and Dring have been remanded in custody ahead of their next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 20 September.
Bagguley has been remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 30 September.
The 17-year-old boy has been released on conditional bail ahead of his next appearance at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 2 October.
Hodgekinson has been remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 19 September.
