We’re continuing to investigate the unexplained death of a woman in Stoke-on-Trent.
At about 4.15am on Sunday (1 September), we were called to Foundry Street in Hanley following reports of a sudden death.
Sadly, a woman in her 50s was found dead at the scene.
Her death is still being treated as unexplained.
Detectives are keen to speak to people who were in the area that could have vital information to help with our investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
We have carried out door-to-door enquiries, looked over CCTV and are continuing to speak to people who were in the area at the time.
At this stage, we think the woman was in the town centre from Saturday night (31 August) and may have been lying in the doorway of a building until the early hours of Sunday (1 September).
We think she may have been in contact with a man and a woman between this time. They are not suspects but we think they may have been the last people to see her and could have vital information that can help our investigation.
