We’re appealing for information following a report of gunshots in Stoke-on-Trent.
We got a call at 3.35pm this afternoon (Tuesday 3 September) when someone reported hearing gunshots near Winchester Avenue in Bentilee.
No-one has been injured.
A large cordon has been put in the place in the area and an increased police presence is expected to remain there today while we carry out or initial enquiries into the incident. The cordon is affecting the area around Shenfield Green, Winchester Avenue and Aylesbury Road currently.
Firearms officers and our colleagues from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) are also helping with the searches.
Anyone who saw what happened or those with any information that can help us is asked to get in touch by calling 101, quoting incident 420 of 3 September, or by using Live Chat on our website.
To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
