We were called at 7.13pm on Saturday (14 September) to Shobnall playing fields, on Shobnall Road, following reports of two men being approached by a group of around eight youths.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was grabbed by a suspect, thrown to the floor and repeatedly kicked near the footbridge across the A38.
Thankfully, the victim wasn’t seriously hurt and he and his friend, who had also been grabbed, managed to escape.
Following the assault, the suspects left in the direction of a nearby wooded area.

All of the suspects are described as Asian and were wearing grey and black tracksuits.
