We can sadly confirm that a woman has died following a collision outside a supermarket in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers were called shortly before 12 noon on Tuesday (22 October) to Tesco on Baths Road in Longton following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a van.
The pedestrian, 61-year-old Kathleen Nicol, known by her family as Kathy, was taken to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
Sadly, Kathleen died in hospital yesterday (Wednesday 23 October).
We’ve deployed specially-trained officers to support her family at this difficult time.
The driver of the van stayed at the scene and has been assisting officers with the investigation into the collision.
