A woman has been arrested after a car was stung following a pursuit across north Staffordshire.
At about 2.40pm on Saturday (26 October), officers from our road crime team (RCT) were told about a grey Volvo that was travelling up the M6, between junction 14 and junction 15, that was driving dangerously.
We closed one of the lanes after the car came to a stop, but the driver then made off from police and failed to stop.
Officers followed the car through Tunstall, Goldenhill, Kidsgrove, Congleton and Scholar Green.
Supporting officers from Cheshire Police then managed to sting the car, allowing our officers to box in the driver on Station Road.
A 38-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving whilst unfit through drugs and criminal damage.
She has since been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
