Two people have been arrested on suspicion of driving and theft offences after a car was found on its roof following a collision in Stoke-on-Trent.
At 8.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 October), we were called to Cocknage Road in Longton following reports that a Vauxhall Astra was involved in a collision, rolled a number of times and ended up on its roof.
The car did not have a registration plate when it was found at the scene. It is unclear at this time whether or not the car had been stolen previously.
After carrying out enquiries, we found out that around five people were travelling in the car at the time. Three of them left the scene after the collision, leaving two in the area.
An 18-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and vehicle theft. Another man, aged 20, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
Both of them remain in custody at this time.
We’re keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or those with information that can help us with our investigation.
