We have arrested two people in Newcastle-under-Lyme after an estimated 40-kilograms of cannabis was seized, believed to be worth around £200,000.
Officers carried out a warrant at an address near Clayton Road today (Friday 11 October) after the packages of drugs were intercepted outside of Staffordshire.
These searches are continuing this afternoon.
A 49-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to import a controlled drug of class B.
They remain in custody for questioning.
