We have carried out seven separate searches in the last 24-hours across Stoke-on-Trent as part of our ongoing commitment to tackle organised crime with our partners in the city.
Today (Tuesday 22 October), local officers carried out three warrants on Oldfield Street in Fenton following local intelligence around potential drug supply.
We recovered a zombie knife inside one of the homes and arrested three people, all from Stoke-on-Trent, on suspicion of a number of offences relating to drug supply, weapons and burglary.
Yesterday (Monday 21 October), we also arrested a number of people in the city on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs following searches at separate addresses.
The activity follows our ongoing commitment across Stoke-on-Trent to tackle crime and disorder.
As part of our ongoing Making Great Places initiative to make the city a safe and confident place, we carried out the searches today alongside Cllr Chris Robinson, cabinet member for housing and planning at Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
Speaking from the scene, Chief Superintendent Elliott Sharrard-Williams said: “We’re committed, alongside the city council and local partners to stamp out crime and anti-social behaviour in the city as part of our efforts to make Stoke-on-Trent the best place it can be.
“We work seamlessly alongside city council colleagues to understand and take action against the concerns of local residents using all the tactics we can muster, from drugs search warrants to tenancy enforcement and work tackling environmental crime.
“I want communities to know that we’re taking action against those causing the most harm in our communities each and every day in Staffordshire.
“To report concerns, please ring us on 101 or use Live Chat on our website. If you want to stay anonymous, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Your name and number isn’t recorded, you can tell them what you know, and we can take action.”
Cllr Robinson said: “It is great to see first-hand the work council teams and Staffordshire Police are doing to make our neighbourhoods safe. We want to ensure that everyone feels safe where they live, work and socialise.”
