We have arrested a man after police dog Joschi was deployed to reports of an assault and attempted robbery in Stoke-on-Trent.
At 3.40am yesterday morning (Monday 30 September), we were called to Meir Road in Normacot when a man was punched in the face by a group of four other men.
The men demanded the victim’s phone just before he was assaulted. One of them pulled out a suspected machete.
The victim suffered injuries to his face that are not deemed life-threatening or life-changing.
When we got to the scene, the suspects ran away. PD Joschi was brought in and quickly sniffed out one of the men who was hiding in thick undergrowth.
