Just before 12.45pm today, a police community support officer (PCSO) came across an unconscious woman on Town Road in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, and started CPR.
We closed the road while our officers and colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service responded to the incident.
Sadly, the woman, in her 60s, died at the scene.
The woman’s next of kin has been informed and our thoughts are with her family at this distressing time.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.
