We are investigating after the body of a man was found in a canal in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
We were called shortly before 7am this morning (Tuesday 29 October) to a canal near Kidsgrove Train Station following a report from someone who saw the body in the water.
Officers went to the scene and have set up a cordon.
Sadly, the body of a man was found at the scene.
We are currently treating the death as unexplained and have launched an investigation to find out more about what happened.
