We are appealing for information after a man sustained a fractured skull and other serious injuries in an assault in Burton-on-Trent recently.
We were called at 2am on Sunday 6 October to New Street, outside The Anchor pub, following reports of violence.
Officers attended and a man had been punched unconscious by another man outside who left the scene before we arrived.
The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained a total of three skull fractures, two bleeds on the brain, a perforated ear drum and soft tissue damage to his back.
Thankfully, he has since been discharged from hospital and continues his recovery at home.
We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the pub prior to the assault and anyone who saw the assault take place.
Anyone with any information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 059 of 6 October.
