A number of people have been sentenced and convicted in the last few days as part of our robust investigation into the violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent and Tamworth.
Danny Hollick, 41, of Tamworth, previously admitted violent disorder and was sentenced to two-years-and-two-months in prison at Stafford Crown Court on Monday (11 November).
Ian Green, 55, of Kettlebrook, Tamworth, was jailed for two-years at the same court yesterday after he previously admitted violent disorder.
Cameron Bell, 23, of Tamworth, admitted the same offence and was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday 12 November) to nine-months behind bars.
Simon Beech, 36, of Chell Heath, Stoke-on-Trent, pleaded guilty to violent disorder at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday (11 November).
Hollick threw a large rock at a police officer in Tamworth on 4 August and repeatedly challenged the frontline.
Green told people to target the doors of the Holiday Inn Express, Tamworth, and repeatedly obstructed police who were on the frontline on 4 August.
Bell repeatedly made racist remarks and told members of the group that they should visit other hotels in the area as part of the disorder. She tried to hide her work ID that she had at the time amid fears of being identified. She filmed her involvement and streamed it online.
Beech repeatedly ignored police in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August when he was asked to move back. He threw a missile at police and repeatedly challenged public order officers.
Beech will be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 25 November.
We’re continuing to trawl through the evidence we have in-order to take action against those responsible for the violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August and Tamworth on 4 August.
