A man has been charged after two people were stabbed inside a house in Cheadle.
Anthony Lovatt, 68, of Cheadle, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possessing a knife in a public place.
It comes after we were called at 12.05am on Friday (8 November) to an address near Leek Road following a report that a man and a woman had been stabbed.
A man, in his 60s, was stabbed in his stomach and chest. A woman, in her 40s, was stabbed in her chest.
Officers carried out emergency first aid before colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service took both of them to hospital.
The woman has since been discharged from hospital. The man remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Officers searched a separate address in the area and recovered two knives nearby.
Lovatt has been remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Stafford Crown Court on 6 December.
