A man has been charged after proactive officers seized a suspected stolen quadbike in a crackdown on vehicle-related anti-social behaviour (ASB) in north Staffordshire.
Dominic Daniels, 29, from Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously and using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third-party insurance.
It comes after a joint operation between Newcastle, Moorlands and Stoke North and Stoke South local policing teams (LPTs) on Sunday (17 November).
They were joined by specialist officers from our road harm prevention team patrolling on off-road motorcycles.
The teams also had the advantage of an ‘eye in the sky’ in the form of a fixed-wing aircraft from the National Police Air Service (NPAS). The aircraft can remain in flight for eight hours.
At around 2.30pm, a quadbike failed to stop for officers when they spotted it on Chell Heath Road in Chell Heath. The aircraft located the machine and rider almost immediately and followed it to Bradwell Woods, where a man was arrested.
Daniels has been bailed to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 5 December.
This week is Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week.
ASB, whether vehicle related or not, is a key priority for so many of our communities in Staffordshire, and that’s why we’re taking action alongside local partners to achieve results that matter.
