Family pay tribute to ‘kind, gentle, funny’ man who died in A5 collision

The family of a ‘kind, gentle, warm and funny’ man who sadly died in a collision on the A5 recently have paid tribute to him.

Alex Dickenson, aged 28, was travelling on a blue Yamaha motorbike at about 7.15pm on Wednesday (6 November) when he was involved in a collision with a white Mercedes car on the eastbound carriageway, between Ventura and Marlborough Way.

Damage was caused to both vehicles.

Debris from that collision hit a white Vauxhall Adam, travelling westbound.

A white Scania HGV was then involved in a collision with the stationary Vauxhall and Dickenson.

Sadly, he suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

In a tribute to him, Alex’s family said: “Our Alex, so kind, so warm, so gentle, so funny. He will be forever loved and missed.

“All our love.”

The driver of the Vauxhall, a woman in her 50s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she continues to recover.

The driver of the HGV stayed at the scene and is assisting police with the investigation.
