We are appealing for information after a man sadly died and a woman was seriously injured following a series of collisions on the A5 in Tamworth yesterday (Wednesday 6 November).
We were called at about 7.15pm last night when a collision happened between a blue Yamaha motorbike and a white Mercedes car on the eastbound carriageway, between Ventura and Marlborough Way.
Damage was caused to both vehicles.
Debris from that collision hit a white Vauxhall Adam, travelling westbound.
A white Scania HGV was then involved in a collision with the stationary Vauxhall and the rider of the motorbike, who was on foot at the time.
Sadly, the rider of motorbike, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.
His family are being supported by specially-trained officers at this traumatic time.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a woman in her 50s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
The driver of the HGV stayed at the scene and is assisting police with the investigation.
We’re keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened on either carriageway or those with CCTV or dashcam of the area at the time. Call 101, quoting incident 611 of 6 November, or email collision investigators directly using [email protected]
