Off-road bikes and e-scooters are being seized as we continue to clamp down on anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Tamworth.
We have lots of reports recently from concerned residents involving people riding them in an anti-social manner.
Under legislation, e-scooters and off-road motorbikes can be seized by police when they are seen to be riding on the public highway or footpath. Therefore, we are urging people to continue reporting incidents to us so we can tackle the persistent issues that are affecting local communities.
We also want to reiterate that no insurance company will allow for e-scooters or off-road bikes to be used on public highways or footpaths, meaning that the vehicles can’t be released back once they’re seized and are often then sent for destruction.
Equally, if owners don’t have a valid license or insurance, they can be fined up to £300 and issued a six point penalty.
More information about off-road bikes and e-scooters can be found on our website: Advice on e-scooter usage | Staffordshire Police
