A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape as our investigation continues into a recent incident in Stafford.
At about 8pm on Sunday (21 April), a woman was walking near to the Vine Hotel on Salters Street when she was seriously sexually assaulted.
She is continuing to receive support from specialist officers at this time.
We’ve been carrying out enquiries at pace as part of our investigation and have arrested a 33-year-old man, from Stafford.
He has been questioned by detectives and has since been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
We’re still keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or those with any information that can help us with our investigation.
