Staffordshire Police are investigating after two teenagers sadly died following a collision near Penkridge last night (Saturday 25 May).
We were called by colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service just before midnight to a report of a single-vehicle collision with four casualties on Cannock Road. We arrived at the scene a short time later.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the driver of the Ford Ka, an 18-year-old male, and front-seat passenger, a 17-year-old male, were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Two 17-year-old female passengers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Sergeant Richard Moors, from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Collision Investigation Unit (CIU), said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the young people who have tragically lost their lives and those who have suffered injuries.
“Specialist officers are supporting their families at this difficult time and we ask that their privacy is respected. A full and detailed investigation is now under way to establish the cause of the collision.”
