A drug dealer has been jailed for two-and-a-half-years after officers seized cocaine and cannabis, worth £5,000, in Stoke-on-Trent.
Adam Watkins, 20, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested after we stopped him in the Fenton area in May last year and seized two mobile phones.
We found messages on the phones linked to drug supply in the area.
Officers then searched his home in Fenton and found a number of jars, paper bags and tubs containing cannabis, worth £3,600.
We also seized more than £900 in cash, a knife and a bag containing cocaine, worth £1,400
He was charged and sent to court where he pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A - cocaine, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class b - cannabis and acquire/use/possess criminal property.
On Wednesday (15 May) at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, he was jailed for two-years-and-six-months.
DC Lucas Hackney, who dealt with the case, said: “I’m pleased we’ve been able to jail another dealer who was intent on distributing harmful drugs within our communities.
“Officers across the force are committed to proactively targeting drug supply and will continue to act on intelligence leads and reports from the public to bring these people to justice.”
We’re continuing to proactively target serious and organised crime across Staffordshire, working with the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) as part of Operation Target.
