We’re appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy sadly died following a collision in Tamworth.
Shortly after 1.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 May), we got a call from staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham to let us know about the death of a teenage boy.
The boy, aged 17, was taken there after suffering a serious head injury.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he sadly died in hospital.
After carrying out enquiries, we found out the boy had been riding a bike and was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on Glascote Road, Tamworth, the day before (Tuesday 21 May).
It happened at about 9.30am.
We’re keen to speak to people who were in the area at the time or those who might have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area.
The pedestrian is helping us with our enquiries.
Call 101, quoting incident 312 of 22 May, or message us using Live Chat on our website.
