We’re continuing to appeal for information following the death of a woman in Stoke-on-Trent.
At 9.30pm on Monday night (18 March), we were called by our colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service to Sefton Avenue in Sneyd Green.
A woman in her 60s was found unresponsive inside the address. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Specialist officers are continuing to support her family as much as they can.
The 53-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has since been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.
Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the events leading up to the woman’s death and would ask people not to speculate about what happened at this stage.
A referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to recent police contact with the woman.
We’re keen to speak to people who were in the area at the time or those with any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from Monday.
Call 101, quoting incident 700 of 18 March, or message us using Live Chat on our website.
