Two men have been charged with drug offences after officers found an estimated £6-million worth of cocaine in a van.
Nadim Aitchegou, aged 21, of London, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – cocaine.
Miroslaw Perka, aged 33, of no-fixed-abode, has been charged with being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug.
It comes after officers found around 62 kilograms of cocaine in a van in Essex on Monday (25 March).
Aitchegou and Perka appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday (Wednesday 27 March) and have been remanded in custody ahead of their next appearance at Stafford Crown Court on 26 April.
We launched Operation Target back in May last year (2023) and have been working proactively to disrupt those who commit serious offences across the region, including drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Officers from Staffordshire, West Midlands, Warwickshire and West Mercia set about the crackdown on serious organised crime and have been working together to disrupt those responsible and safeguard those affected by it.
