A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two people were assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent.
We got a call at 5.45am this morning (Friday 8 March) after a man forced his way into a home and attacked two people near Cumberbatch Avenue in Fegg Hayes.
A man, in his 30s, suffered lacerations to his face and head. A woman, in her 30s, suffered similar injuries.
Both of them were taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
We have arrested a 37-year-old man, of no fixed address, on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated burglary.
He is being questioned in custody today.
A large cordon is currently in place whilst we continue with our enquiries. We’re keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or those with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from this morning.
