We are appealing for information following a spate of burglaries, attempted burglaries and thefts in Uttoxeter during the last week.
We are continuing to review CCTV footage as part of our ongoing enquiries to identify those involved. We are increasing our patrols across the local area, whilst local police community support officers (PCSOs) have been visiting those affected by the burglaries, providing reassurance and securing any available CCTV. We have also been keeping our communities updated through our social media and smart alert system.
On Sunday 10 March, we received reports of an attempted burglary and the theft of a Cupra Formentor from addresses near Holly Road between 4am and 8.30am.
At around 2.30pm on Wednesday 13 March, we received reports of a burglary and the theft of a car key from Lea Lane in Newton.
On Thursday 14 March, we received reports of 13 attempted burglaries and car thefts near Holly Road between 12.15am and 1.35am
Inspector Keith Jones, deputy chief commander of the East Staffordshire local policing team, said: "We are incredibly concerned by the rising number of break-ins that we have seen in recent days.
