Three boys have been arrested as our investigation continues into a robbery that happened in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
At about 8.50pm on Thursday 2 May, the victim was approached by a group of three boys near a seating area by the sunken roundabout on Barracks Road.
Two of the suspects pulled out knives. One of them threatened to stab the victim if he didn’t give them his shoes.
The victim handed them over and walked away. The shoes were worth around £200.
Since then, we’ve been working hard to track down the group responsible and carry out enquiries in the area. We also issued a social media appeal.
Our investigation led us to different addresses in Burton-on-Trent, North Wales and Bedfordshire.
Three boys have recently been arrested on suspicion of robbery:
They have all been questioned in custody and released on bail while the investigation continues.
Sergeant Steven Anckaert, from the Newcastle-under-Lyme local policing team, said: “Burglary, theft and robbery can have a profound impact on victims and we won’t tolerate it.
“Those who seek to steal from local residents and businesses across Staffordshire will be robustly targeted using a range of tactics.”
