Three men have been arrested after a fight happened involving weapons in Stoke-on-Trent.
At about 4.05pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 July), we were called to Oak Street in Birches Head when someone reported a fight involving a group of men.
Armed officers, dog units and response officers went to the scene.
Three men were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not deemed life-threatening or life-changing.
After carrying out enquiries, we believe a hammer and a plank of wood was used in the fight. We think it follows a video that was posted on social media involving a man kicking a dog.
A 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
They both remain in custody for questioning.
Today (11 July), we also arrested a 63-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries, looking over CCTV and carrying out a thorough investigation into yesterday’s events. We’re also liaising with the RSPCA over the video that was posted a few days ago.
We’re keen to speak to anyone with any information that can help with our investigation. Call 101, quoting incident 478 of 10 July, or message us using Live Chat on our website.
