A man has pleaded guilty to multiple child sexual offences.
Liam Stephen Wood, 18, of Burton, pleaded guilty to two counts of causing/inciting a female child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and three counts of making indecent photographs of a child at Stafford Crown Court on Friday (26 July).
He was arrested in May 2024 after the offences were reported to us.
Following an investigation by our child protection team, he was charged with the offences and remanded into custody.
DC Kathryn Neville, of our child protection team, said: “I’m pleased that Wood pleaded guilty to the offences. He denied the allegations following his arrest and at his plea hearing last month, until, faced with overwhelming evidence, he entered guilty pleas on Friday.
“I would urge anyone who has been a victim of such crimes to come forward and report this to us. We will listen to you, and you and your families will be supported by specially-trained detectives and support workers.
“If you are or have been a victim or you are worried about something, and you don’t feel ready to talk to the police, please speak to someone you trust.”
Wood is due to be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on 13 September.
