A man has been charged after a police officer was assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent.
Clinton Ashton, aged 42, of no fixed address, has been charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker.
It comes after we responded to reports of a man behaving erratically near Tunstall Cemetery at about 6.10am yesterday morning (Thursday 11 July).
An officer was assaulted and went to hospital for treatment.
Ashton is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Friday 12 July).
