A man has been arrested a fire broke out in a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent.
Shortly after 10pm last night (Wednesday 3 July), we were called to St Johns Square in Burslem after the fire was spotted.
A man was trapped on the top floor.
Thankfully, through the quick thinking of a member of the public, the man was brought to safety after a ladder was used to reach him.
The man was taken to hospital but was not seriously injured.
A full investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
A 43-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been arrested on suspicion of arson.
