A man has been arrested following an assault on a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) in Stoke-on-Trent.
We were called just after 11am on Tuesday (9 July) to reports a man was obstructing the DVLA from seizing vehicles parked at a location on Boon Avenue, Penkull.
The man pushed the DVLA worker and then later returned to the scene while driving a van and came into collision with a PCSO.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
A 35-year-old man, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating, possess a knife, blade or sharp pointed article in a public place and using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour with intent to cause fear and provoke unlawful violence.
He has since been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.
Anyone with any information that can help with our investigation is encouraged to get in touch. We’re also keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time.
