We’ve launched an investigation following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian near Tamworth.
At about 9.15am this morning (Thursday 18 July), we were called to the incident at Coleshill Street in Fazeley, near to Tesco Express.
We attended the scene alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
The pedestrian, a man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene.
A 66-year-old man, from Leicester, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody for questioning.
A scene is in place in the area this afternoon while officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
Specially-trained officers have been deployed to support the man’s family at this time.
