A drug dealer who was caught with MDMA and was dealing cannabis in Uttoxeter has been sentenced.
Leon Harrington, aged 38, of Uttoxeter, was stopped by proactive officers on Sorrell Close, Uttoxeter, in August last year.
He had deals of cannabis on him, a mobile phone and £20 cash.
When we searched his house, we found a large amount of cannabis, MDMA, ecstasy pills, amphetamine, scales and cash.
He was later charged with possession of a controlled drug of class A (MDMA), possession of a controlled drug of class B (amphetamine) and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B (cannabis).
At Stafford Crown Court on 26 June, Harrington was given a 15-month prison sentence, suspended for 18-months, after he previously admitted to the offences. He was also ordered to pay £1,000 in costs and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.
Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury, from our proactive team, worked on the case. He said: “Officers across Staffordshire and being proactive everyday in the fight against illegal drug dealing and the associated criminality that comes with it.
“We’re continuing to use a range of tactics to find out who’s responsible, what organised criminal groups are supplying the drugs and what we can do to work alongside partners to safeguard those coerced into this type of activity.”
