We are advising residents in Tamworth to be vigilant as we continue to investigate a spate of recent burglaries and attempted burglaries in the area.
On 5 January, we went to a property off Pennine Way in Stonydelph after a shed was broken into. Golf clubs, worth £700, were taken from inside.
Then, three days later on 8 January, officers were called to a home off Barlow Close, Amington, just after 4.15am. The suspect tried to get inside the home but was disturbed and left the area without taking anything.
Another attempted burglary was reported at a home off Bitterscote Lane, around 3am on 8 January. Nothing was taken.
Patrols have been stepped up in the areas whilst door-to-door and CCTV enquiries are taking place, alongside forensic examinations.
One man has since been charged with burglary offences in the area whilst our enquiries into the recent spate of reports continue.
Sergeant Sian Moran, of the Tamworth local policing team, said: “We are committed to acting on the concerns of the local community and going after those who seek to steal from people and businesses across Staffordshire.
“Anyone who might have any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the areas at the time of the incidents are urged to get in touch with us.”
Anyone with any information should message us using Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101. To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
